3 Weeks ago – June 21, 2011
“Mom, we have a surprise for you!”
“You do?”
“Yep, wait til you get home from work!”
……hmmmm…wonder what my surprise could be?……a clean house….laundry done…..I get to read my book all night long without any interruptions…..any of these would be a great surprise……
When I got home from work, my surprise wasn’t any of the things I had imagined rather it was something that actually made me tear up. A surprise I was not expecting but should have known this would happen with Daddy being home with the boys while I am at work.

I have to admit now that the haircut has grown on me but it was a shocking surprise, a surprise I wasn’t prepared for. I loved Zander’s hair, the color, the length, the texture, everything, it made him look like a little angel and maybe that’s why it was so hard to let go of that image, because all of us that know Zander know that he is far, far, far from a little angel…..cute, yes….an angel, not so much!
And then I got another call just today, July 15, telling me to look on Facebook at a picture that Daddy took of his boys today.
Yep, Another cut, this time buzzed even shorter! I think this might be a tad too short but what can I do about that now? All I can say is it will grow back unless Dad has his say in it and then he will say, “Nope, I won’t let it grow back!”

The funny thing about Zander is, he will take off his shirt and go sit on the front porch in hopes of getting his hair buzzed because this is what Jason does when I buzz his hair. So when we see him doing this I guess he’s more or less telling us that it’s time to cut his hair again.
